The Gateway Cup is more than an event for racers. We feature recreational rides, runs, and events for people of all ages and athletic abilities.
Thursday Evening– Power Up Training Center’s Pedal with Pros. Swing by Big Shark Bicycle Co’s Big Bend location during Packet-Pick Up. The coaches from Power Up Training Center will take friends, fans, and athletes on a 20 mile+ Shake Out Ride that cruises through St. Louis’ Forest Park and Tower Grove Park. Get ready for the long weekend of radical racing with a conversational cruise with riders of all abilities. Drinks and Light Eats post courtesy of Power Up Training Center. Saturday Morning– Racers- sign up for a FREE event and pre-ride the course with participants from MANY local organizations that assist challenged cyclists. Share your love for cycling with some amazing kids, families, and friends. Riders- come ride and show that cycling is for EVERYONE at the Gateway Cup Ride to Unite. For one hour before Stage 2, The Tour de Francis Park- the course is open to everyone to enjoy an inspiring ride. Cost: FREE
Sunday Morning- In addition to supporting worthwhile organizations, recreational riders can take in the scenery of some of St. Louis’ beautiful and historic neighborhoods — even more incentive to get out for a Labor Day Weekend ride at Trailnet’s Giro della Montagna Ride. Sunday Afternoon– Pedal in Place at the Race! A Parkinson’s Fundraiser at The Bommarito Audi West County Gateway Cup Benefiting the Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson’s. Join us as we ride stationary bikes outdoors during Labor Day weekend at The Bommarito Audi West County Gateway Cup to benefit the Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson’s! We will have hundreds of riders on bikes from 9:30 am – 6 pm on Sunday, September 1, the Giro della Montagna day of the race. When you’re not on your 30 minute shift on the bike, enjoy beer gardens, food vendors, watching the race, and being a part of the family friendly festival street party.
Sunday Evening– Post race. Head over to Urban Chestnut Brewery in the Grove. From 7pm until 10pm, UCBC is keeping their kitchen open and taps flowing post Giro della Montagna for the racers and fans. Monday Morning – Start Labor Day off right in the City of Florissant. Enjoy a great holiday ride before tailgating at the races. Supported by Power Up Training Center, the Tour de Florissant Community Ride features a 15 mile and a 26 mile route through the back roads of North STL County. Enjoy exploring a new community and an afternoon in Old Town Florissant.
